What is AFIR?

AFIR is a European regulation that came into force on 13 April 2024. It sets mandatory rules for operators of publicly accessible charging points, covering everything from payment methods and pricing structures to data provision. It replaces earlier national frameworks in many EU countries and creates a unified set of standards across the market.
