AFIR – What it means for you as a CPO?

AFIR - the EU Regulation on the Deployment of Alternative Fuels Infrastructure (EU 2023/1804) - has been in force since April 2024. It sets out binding rules for how publicly accessible charging infrastructure must operate across Europe, including clear obligations around pricing. According to AFIR CPOs cannot charge e-Mobility Service Providers (EMSPs) more than they charge their own end users on an ad-hoc basis. This is the non-discrimination principle, and it applies to all your B2B partners - including DCS.
